Senior Databricks Engineer / Data Architect 📍 Portugal or European Union | Remote / Hybrid We are looking for senior data engineers and data architects with strong Databricks experience to design, evolve and manage modern, scalable and secure data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments. This role involves real ownership over architecture, data quality and technical standards, with direct interaction with engineering teams, analytics teams and business stakeholders. What you will do - Design data architectures based on Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake and Apache Spark - Build reliable analytical pipelines using Python and SQL - Define and apply data management, quality, security and enterprise standards - Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including automation, testing and version control - Work across Azure, AWS or GCP, including hybrid environments - Provide technical guidance and contribute to Centres of Excellence What we are looking for - Proven hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark - Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL - Strong understanding of modern cloud data architectures - Experience with dbt and analytics engineering - Experience in data quality, compliance and enterprise environments - Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Fluent English - Based in the European Union Nice to have - Experience in data platform migrations - Background in Banking, Insurance or regulated industries - Exposure to machine learning in production or MLOps What we offer - 20 dedicated learning and development days per year - Fully supported certifications (Databricks, Azure, AWS) - Technical leadership growth - Close collaboration with senior architects and consultants 💡 We are looking for people who think in systems and build data platforms that scale, endure and stand up to scrutiny.
